APHC-AJK pays glowing tribute to Allama Iqbal on his birth anniversary
Iqbal’s intellectual legacy created Pakistan, inspired enslaved nations: Safi

Islamabad: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter has paid rich tribute to the Poet of the East, Allama Dr. Muhammad Iqbal, on his birth anniversary, describing him as a visionary who awakened the Muslims of the subcontinent with his philosophy of Khudi (selfhood) and message of freedom.
According to Kashmir Media Service, APHC-AJK Convener Ghulam Muhammad Safi, in a statement issued in Islamabad, said that Allama Iqbal’s intellectual legacy not only paved the way for the creation of Pakistan but also inspired enslaved nations across the world to rise for their freedom. He said Iqbal’s philosophy of self-realisation and resistance remains a source of strength and hope for the people of Jammu and Kashmir in their ongoing struggle against Indian occupation.
Ghulam Muhammad Safi noted that Iqbal’s vision of a dignified and resolute Muslim identity continues to live through the courage and determination of the Kashmiri people who, despite over seven decades of Indian repression, military siege, extrajudicial killings, enforced disappearances, and human rights violations, remain steadfast in their quest for freedom.
He maintained that the Kashmiris’ unyielding resistance and unwavering commitment to their inalienable right to self-determination stand as a living embodiment of Iqbal’s thought. Safi urged the international community, the United Nations, and global human rights organizations to take concrete steps for a just resolution of the Kashmir dispute in line with Iqbal’s vision of justice and equality and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
In conclusion, the APHC convener prayed that Allah Almighty enable the Muslim Ummah to act upon the teachings of Allama Iqbal and grant the Kashmiri people the freedom, dignity, and peace that the great philosopher-poet had envisioned.
