Babri Masjid Trust receives Rs 3.50 crore in donations in West Bengal

Kolkata: The “West Bengal Islamic Foundation of India,” a trust established for the construction of the Babri Masjid-style mosuqe in the Beldanga area of Murshidabad district in West Bengal, has received Rs 3.50 crore in donations so far.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the counting of cash contributions — stored in eleven boxes — was completed last night, a close aide of suspended Trinamool Congress MLA Humayun Kabir confirmed. Additionally, online donations deposited in the trust’s bank account have reached Rs 2.63 crore.

It may be recalled that Humayun Kabir recently announced the reconstruction of a Babri Masjid–style structure in Beldanga, with the foundation stone laid on December 6.
