Muslim meat traders branded Bangladeshis, brutalised in West Bengal

Kolkata: Three Muslim meat traders were stripped, beaten, and abused in West Bengal’s South 24 Parganas district, with attackers calling them “Bangladeshi”.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the incident has raised concerns over safety of Muslims and police response. Victims Faraz Ali Piyada, Akkash Ali Piyada, and Ansar Ali Piyada were targeted by a Hindutva mob of 40-50 people.

The attackers, allegedly led by named individuals including Chandan Mandal and Kartik Naskar, looted valuables and left the men traumatized.

All three were taken to Baruipur Hospital in a critical condition. They have since been discharged but remain bedridden at home, suffering from serious injuries and mental trauma.

“When I remember that torture, I break down,” one of the victims said quietly.

Police have arrested three, but the family claims key accused are still at large. Rights groups condemn the “hate crime”, calling it an attack on Indian Muslims’ dignity and citizenship.
