In shameless attempt to suppress voices, Muslim voters targeted in MP

New Delhi: A sinister plot to disenfranchise Muslim voters has been uncovered in Rewa, Madhya Pradesh, where hundreds of names have allegedly been deleted from the voter list without proper verification or notice. This blatant attempt to suppress minority voices has sparked outrage and fear among the community.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process has been marred by allegations of deliberate targeting of Muslim voters, with reports emerging from villages like Gudh Panchayat, Barhadi, and Raipur Karchulia. “Many of us have lived here for generations, yet suddenly our names are being deleted from the voter list,” said Mohsin Ali, a resident of Gudh Panchayat. “It’s a clear case of communal bias and intimidation.”

The numbers are staggering: 46 names removed from Gudh Panchayat, 73 from Barhadi, 125 from Raipur Karchulia, 62 from Ramnai, and 33 from Jugnihai. Residents claim they were not informed, and forms were allegedly filled out without their consent.

“About 500 names appear to have been removed,” said a group of residents who approached the collectorate. “We demand an impartial investigation and corrective measures. This is not just a clerical issue – it’s deliberate harassment of our community.”

The Rewa District Collector Pratibha Pal has promised to review complaints, but critics argue it’s too little, too late. “The damage is done,” said Ananya Sen, a civil rights activist. “The systematic removal or intimidation of minority voters undermines democratic processes and erodes trust in electoral institutions.”

The incidents in Rewa mirror similar cases in Jaipur and Etawah, where Booth Level Officers (BLOs) were allegedly pressured or attacked for refusing to remove Muslim voters’ names. “This is a coordinated effort to silence minority voices,” said Farida Begum, a local teacher. “We demand justice and accountability.”
