Over a dozen schools in India’s Noida receive bomb threats, sparking panic
Noida (UP): More than a dozen schools across Noida in Uttar Pradesh received bomb threats Thursday, sparking panic among students, parents and school staff.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the threats were received through email, officials said. The incident took place during the ongoing Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) examinations, adding to the anxiety among parents and students.
Indian media reported that several private schools received threatening messages on their official email IDs, warning that their buildings would be targeted with bombs. Following the alerts, school authorities immediately informed local police and district officials.
Police teams rushed to the affected schools and began security operations. Bomb disposal squads and dog squad units were deployed, and a thorough check of the school premises was initiated. As a precautionary measure, students at some schools were moved to safe areas, while examinations at certain institutions continued under tight security arrangements. Police later said that no suspicious objects were found.
The latest threats have revived concerns in the region, especially after a similar incident on January 23, when around 20 schools in Noida received bomb threat emails, prompting extensive searches across campuses. Those threats were later declared hoaxes.
Incidents involving bomb threats targeting public institutions, particularly schools, have increasingly become a recurring occurrence across India, raising serious concerns about safety and security.
