Ruhullah questions handling of Kashmiri students’ assault, suspension in Rajasthan

Srinagar: National Conference leader and Member of Parliament Agha Ruhullah Mehdi has expressed concern over the assault and suspension of Kashmiri students at Mewar University in Rajasthan, branding it a “serious question mark on academic transparency, student safety, and institutional accountability”.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the students, enrolled in the BSc Nursing programme, were suspended just months before completing their degree, leaving them in a lurch. The university’s failure to obtain required registration from the Indian Nursing Council and Rajasthan Nursing Council has left students anxious about their future.
Ruhullah has urged authorities to revoke the suspension orders, ensure a fair inquiry into allegations of violence and intimidation, and clarify the programme’s recognition status. He said he will formally take up the issue with Rajasthan Chief Minister and the Indian Nursing Council President seeking urgent intervention and safeguards for the affected students.
