Pakistan strongly responds to unprovoked Afghanistan fire, exposes propaganda by Afghan Media
Islamabad: Pakistan’s security forces mounted an immediate and effective response after Afghan forces opened unprovoked fire at multiple locations along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
According to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Taliban forces “miscalculated” by initiating firing across several sectors, including Chitral, Khyber, Mohmand, Kurram and Bajaur. Pakistani forces responded in line with established defensive protocols, using mortars where necessary to neutralise hostile positions.

Sources stated that multiple Afghan posts and equipment were damaged during the exchange. Islamabad categorically rejected claims circulating in Afghan media that Pakistani border posts had been captured, terming them “false and fabricated.” Authorities also denied reports of Pakistani casualties, saying no such losses had occurred.
In a related development, it is confirmed that drones sent from the Afghan side were intercepted and destroyed after violating Pakistani airspace. Claims by Afghan sources portraying the incident as a Pakistani air strike were dismissed as deliberate misinformation.
Officials further noted what they described as a flood of fake news circulating on Afghan social media platforms and amplified by segments of the country’s mainstream media, accusing them of spreading exaggerated and unverified claims about the situation along the border.
It is reiterated that Pakistan will take all necessary measures to safeguard its territorial integrity and protect its citizens against any aggression.
