Islamabad: Even a year after the Pahalgam false flag operation, the Indian media’s irresponsible reporting and its aggressive anti-Pakistan narrative continue unabated, drawing criticism for lack of evidence and violation of journalistic norms.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the Modi government’s ‘Godi media’ has persistently leveled allegations against Pakistan without presenting any credible proof. In a display of apparent war hysteria, an FIR was registered at the Pahalgam police station within just 10 minutes of the incident, with Pakistan being promptly nominated in the case.
Observers noted that, driven by anti-Pakistan sentiment, Indian media outlets ignored key ground realities, including the difficult terrain and the one-and-a-half-hour distance of nearly five kilometers from the site of the incident. Without verification, several channels hastily portrayed the attack as an act of organized terrorism, further fueling anti-Muslim sentiment. Within an hour, a coordinated and provocative anti-Pakistan narrative had taken shape across major Indian media platforms.
International media outlets later described the coverage of the Pahalgam incident by Indian media as baseless and lacking factual grounding. The reporting also drew criticism from within India. Analysts and commentators pointed to the consistent use of inflammatory and misleading propaganda in violation of professional journalistic standards.
Global defense experts observed that the anti-Pakistan narrative surrounding the Pahalgam incident appeared to be part of a premeditated strategy. They noted that international scrutiny of India’s reporting has increasingly exposed the role of ‘Godi media’, while the Pahalgam incident reflects a continuation of patterns seen in earlier incidents such as Uri and Pulwama, which were used to malign Pakistan through orchestrated narratives.
