Curfew in Rajasthan border belt exposes Indian designs for misadventure against Pakistan

New Delhi: Amid growing war hysteria, Indian authorities have imposed curfew within a 3-km belt along the international border with Pakistan in Rajasthan’s Sriganganagar district till September 15, in what observers see as preparations for a possible misadventure against Pakistan on fabricated pretexts.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Sriganganagar District Magistrate Dr Amit Yadav has issued restrictive orders applicable within a 3-kilometer radius adjacent to the border. Civilian movement in this zone has been prohibited from 7 pm to 6 am, enforcing a curfew-like situation for nearly 11 hours daily.

A complete ban has also been imposed on the use of high-intensity lights, loudspeakers, DJs, bands, and firecrackers within the border area. The orders apply to all subdivisions sharing a direct border with Pakistan, including Sriganganagar, Srikaranpur, Padampur, Raisinghnagar, Anupgarh and Gharsana. The authorities asked the farmers to obtain written permission from BSF or Army officials to visit fields for irrigation at night. Entering the border zone without permission will be treated as a punishable offense. The orders will remain in force until September 15.

Observers note that such sweeping curbs on civilian life, imposed on the pretext of drone smuggling and infiltration, reflect New Delhi’s pattern of targeting populations, particularly Muslims, to create a war-like atmosphere.

Analysts warn that the sudden intensification of restrictions, clubbed with ongoing propaganda about “bioterror plots” and “anti-national threats,” points to orchestrated attempts to malign Muslims and build justification for aggression against Pakistan.

“All these things reflect preparations for a possible misadventure against Pakistan under various pretexts,” they said. The curbs have disrupted daily life, farming, and local events in the border belt, sparking concerns that New Delhi is manufacturing tensions to divert attention from internal failures and escalate hostility with Pakistan.
