Indian police attach property of Kashmiri activist in IIOJK

Srinagar: The Bharatiya Janata Party-led Indian regime has attached the property of a Kashmiri activist in Sopore area of Baramulla district in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir today.

According to Kashmir Media Service, acting on the orders of the New Delhi-imposed administration headed by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, the Indian police personnel attached the property ofn) under the draconian Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA):

The attached property comprises 10 marlas of land worth nearly Rs 20 lakh located at Kehnusa in Bandipora district.

Since the illegal abrogation of IIOJK’s special status in August 2019, the BJP government has intensified its drive to seize homes, land, and other assets of Kashmiris. These measures are aimed not only at economically crippling the indigenous population but also at altering the demographic composition of the occupied territory by paving the way for the settlement of non-locals on confiscated properties.

The latest attachments form part of a wider crackdown on Kashmiris who continue to uphold their demand for the settlement of the Kashmir dispute in accordance with relevant UN resolutions.
