Rally held in Muzaffarabad to pay tribute to Mirwaiz Maulvi Farooq, Khawaja Abdul Ghani Lone
Muzaffarabad: All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter and the Young Patriots Network organized a rally in Muzaffarabad to pay tribute to prominent Hurriyat leaders Mirwaiz Molvi Muhammad Farooq and Khawaja Abdul Ghani Lone on their martyrdom anniversaries.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the rally started from Shaheed Afzal Guru Chowk, Domail, and ended at the office of the United Nations Military Observer Mission.
Civil society, students and people from different walks of life participated in the rally. The participants paid tribute to the martyrs and termed their sacrifices as an important chapter of the Kashmir freedom movement.
The rally was led by APHC-AJK General Secretary Advocate Pervaiz Ahmed Shah, while Hurriyat leaders, office-holders of the Young Patriots Network, lawyers, teachers and representatives of educational institutions also participated in the rally.
At the end of the rally, Advocate Pervaiz Ahmed Shah and other Hurriyat leaders submitted a memorandum to the United Nations Military Observer Mission in Muzaffarabad, drawing the attention of the international human rights organization to the grave situation in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
They appealed to the United Nations and international human rights organizations to take immediate notice of Indian aggression, state terrorism and serious human rights violations in occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
They said that Mirwaiz Maulvi Muhammad Farooq and Khawaja Abdul Ghani Lone sacrificed their lives for the right to self-determination of the Kashmiri people and had dedicated their lives to the freedom struggle.
They said the sacrifices of these great leaders are a beacon of light for the Kashmiri people and they will continue their mission at all costs.
The speakers urged the international community to play an effective role in resolving the lingering Kashmir dispute and protecting human rights. They said India has completely failed to suppress the freedom struggle of the Kashmiri people through oppression.
They said the Kashmiri people, by making unprecedented sacrifices, have made it clear to the world that they will continue their struggle until they achieve their fundamental right to self-determination in accordance with the United Nations resolutions.
At the end of the ceremony, special prayers were offered for the martyrs of Kashmir, the unity of the Muslim Ummah, the security of Pakistan, and peace and stability in the region.
On this occasion, APHC-AJK chapter leaders Sheikh Abdul Majid, Zahid Ashraf, Mushtaq-ul-Islam, Abdul Majeed Mir and Young Patriots Network Chairman Hamza katal, General Secretary Kamran Mughal, Abdul Samad Advocate, Umair Safid Abbasi Advocate and Maphanur Advocate were also present.
