Modi govt responsible for unemployment, inflation and economic failure: Kharge

New Delhi : Indian National Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has launched a scathing attack on the BJP-led government under Narendra Modi, holding it responsible for rising inflation, unemployment and worsening economic conditions in the country.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Mallikarjun Kharge, while speaking to media, said India’s economy was “collapsing” and that the prime minister had “no vision” to govern the country effectively. He said rising prices and unemployment have burdened people across the country and that the government has failed to provide relief to them.
Holding Narender Modi directly responsible for the increase in petrol, diesel and cooking gas prices, Kharge termed the situation a “government-created crisis”, saying the cost of essential commodities had risen sharply, making survival difficult for the poor and lower middle class.
Targeting the BJP’s “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas” slogan, he said that government policies were benefiting the rich while pushing the poor into deeper hardship.
On unemployment, Kharge said lakhs of government posts remained vacant and added that the BJP government was deliberately delaying recruitment. He also said that profitable public sector undertakings were being sold to “selected friends” of the government, thereby reducing employment opportunities for youth.
The Congress president added while the government was advising citizens against unnecessary spending like buying gold or travelling abroad, the prime minister himself was undertaking visits, including trips to multiple countries.
