Plan to use IAF aircraft for NEET papers reflects Modi govt’s incompetence: Iltija Mufti

Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader Iltija Mufti has said that the BJP-led Indian government’s reported move to consider using Indian Air Force (IAF) aircraft for transporting NEET-UG examination papers reflects its incompetence and administrative failure.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Iltija Mufti, in a post on X, said the need to explore military resources for the secure transportation of examination papers exposed the extent of corruption, incompetence and institutional failure within the system. She also lamented that governance failures affecting millions of students often receive less public attention than politically charged issues involving Muslims.
“Now Air Force planes will transport NEET papers. Imagine the sheer level of corruption, incompetence and ineptitude. But as long as Muslims become lynch bait, click bait and rage bait, general public is happy!” she wrote.
Her remarks came after reports that the option of using IAF aircraft to transport National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Undergraduate) or NEET-UG question papers for the re-examination scheduled on June 21 was discussed at a high-level meeting chaired by Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and attended by Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia.
The move follows the cancellation of the May 3 NEET-UG examination by the National Testing Agency (NTA) amid allegations of a massive paper leak. The controversy triggered widespread outrage among students and parents across India and raised serious questions about the credibility of the examination process.
Critics say that the consideration of military aircraft for transporting examination papers highlights the Modi government’s inability to safeguard one of the country’s most important entrance examinations through normal administrative mechanisms.
