Tributes paid to Fayaz Ahmed Zargar on his first death anniversary

Islamabad : All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter leaders, Zahid Ashraf and Altaf Ahmed Bhat, have paid glowing tributes to Hurriyat activist Fayaz Ahmed Zargar on his first death anniversary, recalling his sacrifices and the long-standing contribution of his family to the Kashmir cause.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Zahid Ashraf, in a statement in Islamabad, said that the Zargar family from Srinagar’s downtown had rendered remarkable sacrifices for the Kashmir cause. He said that the Zargar family’s commitment, resilience and sacrifices would remain a source of inspiration for those associated with the struggle for the right to self-determination.

He prayed for the elevation of the ranks of the late Fayaz Ahmed Zargar, who spent six years in prison, and said that despite hardships and prolonged separation from his loved ones, he remained a symbol of courage, determination and endurance.
Altaf Ahmad Butt, APHC-AJK leader and Chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement, in a statement issued in Islamabad, paid glowing tributes to Fayaz Ahmed Zargar, saying the courage and steadfastness with which he endured imprisonment, prolonged separation, personal tragedies and countless hardships would always be remembered.
He said Fayaz Ahmed Zargar’s life reflected the suffering and sacrifices of thousands of Kashmiri families who had faced arrests, separations and hardships for decades.
He said Zargar endured nearly six years of imprisonment but continued to demonstrate patience, courage and steadfastness.
Altaf Ahmad Butt said Kashmir’s political history was replete with instances of people facing imprisonment, separation, grief and harsh circumstances. He prayed for the elevation of the deceased’s ranks and the early liberation of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir from Indian occupation.
