Omar raises alarm as Indian police file cases under new laws in IIOJK
Srinagar: National Conference Vice President Omar Abdullah has expressed concerns over the potential misuse of newly enforced laws in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
According to Kashmir Media Service, the laws, which came into effect on Monday, replace the Indian Penal Code (IPC) with the ‘Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita’ law.
Abdullah warns that these laws have more room for misuse than their predecessors, urging the Modi government to reconsider them.
His concerns come as Indian police in the Kashmir valley start registering cases under the new law, sparking public apprehensions.
