5 family members, including 3 children, commit mass suicide in Madhya Pradesh
Bhopal: In a tragic incident, five members of a family, including three children, committed a mass suicide at their residence in India’s Madhya Pradesh state.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the bodies were discovered by authorities in Ravdi village, Alirajpur district.
Initial police findings indicate that Rakesh Dodwa (27), his wife Lalita Dodwa (25), and their children Laxmi (9), Prakash (7), and Akshay (5) were found hanging inside their home. An investigation team, led by the Sub-Divisional Police Officer of Alirajpur, has been formed to probe the incident. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination.
This tragedy mirrors a similar incident in Gujarat last year, where seven family members, including three children, were found dead in their residence. In that case, six succumbed to poisoning, and one was found hanging.
India has seen other mass suicide cases, including nine family members in Mahisal, Maharashtra, in 2022, and eleven family members in Burari, Delhi, in 2018. KMS-25S
