APHC leaders condemn continued illegal detention of Kashmiri political leaders

Srinagar: All Parties Hurriyat Conference leaders Abdul Samad Ingilabi and Maulana Musaib Nadvi have strongly condemned the continued illegal detention of Kashmiri political leaders lodged in different jails of India and Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir and demanded their immediate release.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Hurriyat leaders Abdul Samad Ingilabi and Maulana Musaib Nadvi in their separate statements in Srinagar demanded the immediate release of Kashmiri political leaders, including Hayat Ahmed Butt, Umar Aadil Dar, Firdous Ahmad Shah, Bilal Siddiqui and Abdul Ahad Para.

Hurriyat leader Hayat Ahmed Butt, who is detained in Kot Bhalwal Jail in Jammu, is rapidly losing health. They said that he was arrested in Srinagar in October 2019 after leading protests against the illegal abrogation of Jammu and Kashmir’s special status by the Modi-led Indian government on August 5.

They said a large number of Kashmiri leaders have been languishing in different jails in India, including the infamous Tihar Jail, and they are not allowed to meet their relatives and talk on the telephone in the jails.

The Hurriyat leaders deplored that the Kashmiri political detainees in the jails were being deprived of all basic facilities, including medical treatment and proper food, due to which their health was deteriorating with each passing day and they were suffering from various diseases.

Abdul Samad Inqilabi and Maulana Musaib Nadvi also condemned the shifting of IIOJK JI ameer Dr Hameed Fayyaz to prison again after being released on five-day parole.

They also condemned the illegal detention of APHC Chairman Masarrat Alam Butt, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, Muhammad Yasin Malik, Ayaz Akbar, Aasiya Andrabi, Naheeda Nasreen Fahmeeda Sufi and other Hurriyat leaders languishing in Tihar Jail, New delhi, and demanded their immediate release.
