Police arrest Muslim man in Madhya Pradesh for hoisting Palestinian flag

Bhopal: In Bhopal, the capital of the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh, police have arrested a 40-year-old Muslim man for displaying the Palestinian flag on Independence Day.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the individual, identified as Hanif Khan, hoisted the Palestinian flag alongside the Indian tricolor outside his tailoring shop. This act led to his arrest following pressure from Hindu extremist organizations, including the BJP and RSS, who called for action against him.

Inspector Narendra Singh Thakur of the Gautam Nagar Police Station confirmed the arrest, stating that Khan was taken into custody for displaying the Palestinian flag outside his shop.

Khan had decorated his shop with balloons and flowers in white, saffron, and green colors, but also displayed the Palestinian flag alongside the Indian flag.
