Jammu Martyrs’ Day will be observed on November 6 in Muzaffarabad

Muzaffarabad: To pay tributes to the martyrs of Jammu, 6th November will be observed as Jammu Martyrs’ Day.

According to Kashmir Media Service, during the first week of November 1947, Dogra Maharaja Hari Singh forces, Indian army and Hindu extremists martyred lakhs of Kashmiris in different areas of Jammu region when they were migrating to Pakistan.

A prestigious event will be held in Muzaffarabad under the auspices of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Cell and All Jammu Refugees Welfare Association in which ministers of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, leaders of political parties, leaders of All Parties Hurriyat Conference and people from all walks of life will participate.

Director of Kashmir Liberation Cell, Raja Muhammad Aslam Khan, speaking to the delegation of All Jammu Refugee Welfare Association, said in October and November 1947, Dogra forces, RSS, Sikh and Hindu groups martyred lakhs of Muslims of Jammu and forced them to migrate to Pakistan.

He said in the first week of November 1947, around 880,000 innocent Muslims of Jammu were martyred by the Dogra administration and the goons of the Hindu extremist organization, Rashtra Yeh Sevak Singh, on the pretext of bringing them safely to Pakistan.

He said that the sacrifices of Jammu martyrs will not go waste and Kashmiris will definitely get their birthright to self-determination.
