Woman commits suicide in Darbar Sahib Gurdwara
Chandigarh: A woman has committed suicide at a Gurdwara in Amritsar, Indian state of Punjab.
According to Kashmir Media Service, a 25-year-old young woman committed suicide by jumping from the seventh floor of Darbar Sahib, a Sikh shrine in Amritsar.
As soon as the incident was reported, the police reached the spot and took the body of the woman into custody.
The body has been transferred to Amritsar hospital. Vikram Singh, manager of Gurdwara Darbar Sahib, told the media that the woman had come to the Gurdwara on Thursday morning to pray. However, Gurudwara Baba Atal Rai in the complex climbed to the seventh floor and committed suicide by jumping from there.
Police are investigating the incident through CCTV footage.
