APHC-AJK remembers Allama Iqbal as founder of Kashmir freedom struggle


Islamabad: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Kashmir (APHC-AJK) Chapter paid tribute to Dr. Allama Muhammad Iqbal, the Poet of the East, great philosopher and thinker, on his birth anniversary.

According to Kashmir Media Service, in a prayer meeting held at APHC-AJK Islamabad office today, Allama Iqbal was honoured as the true founder of the Kashmir freedom struggle. The meeting was chaired by Convener APHC-AJK Ghulam Muhammad Safi.

The speakers at the meeting highlighted Allama Iqbal’s deep empathy for the suffering and subjugation of the Kashmiri people, stressing that he wanted Kashmir to be freed from oppression, to thrive, and to achieve greatness in the world.

The participants noted that Allama Iqbal’s poetry, philosophy, and ideas awakened a new spirit and consciousness among the Muslims of the subcontinent.

The speakers further recalled that it was Allama Iqbal who proposed the idea of a separate homeland for Muslims in the subcontinent. They emphasized that the birth anniversary of Allama Iqbal serves as a reminder of the vision for which thousands of Muslims in the subcontinent laid down their lives.

The meeting concluded with prayers for the elevation of Allama Iqbal’s soul, the stability and progress of Pakistan, and the early liberation of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir from Indian rule.
