Congress IIOJK chapter to hold protest march for statehood
Jammu,: Congress IIOJK chater has announced a protest march to Raj Bhawan tomorrow, December 18, to demand the restoration of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir’s statehood and address other critical issues.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the announcement was made by Congress Chief Tariq Hameed Karra during a party meeting. He stated that the march is part of a campaign to highlight growing governance failures and public concerns.
The Raj Bhawan [Governor House] March will see participation from senior Congress leaders, functionaries, and affiliated organizations to press for immediate action on statehood and governance concerns.
Karra criticized the recent Adani episode, referring to the indictment of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s right hand Guatam Adani and his associates by the US Department of Justice, which he described as exposing “a troubling web of corruption, fraud, and deceit.” He warned that the allegations of bribery, money laundering, and market manipulation could erode investor trust and threaten economic stability. “The government’s silence and deliberate stalling of parliamentary discussions on this matter are unacceptable,” he added.
Addressing the crisis in Manipur, Karra expressed dismay at the continuing violence, lawlessness, and the prime minister Modi’s absence from the state. “Despite curfews and loss of lives, the BJP government has failed to act decisively. The chief minister’s incompetence only worsens the situation,” he said.
