Blast outside police post in Amritsar triggers intensified night operations
Amritsar: Following the blast outside the Gumtala police chowki in Indian Punjab, two days ago, the Amritsar police have ramped up their night domination operations.
According to Kashmir Media Service, police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, accompanied by senior officials, inspected checkpoints and police stations on the night of Friday and Saturday.
Bhullar directed senior officers to oversee intensified searches and vehicle checks at 75 identified points in the city. Under the operation, vehicle patrolling has been increased, with 95 vehicles challaned and 18 impounded last night.
Bhullar emphasized that any negligence during the operation would result in strict action. The police also plan to deploy officers in plain clothes to monitor suspicious activities.
