India launches massive raids across Jammu
Jammu: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Indian troops continued massive cordon and search operations across Jammu region and parts of Kashmir valley for the second consecutive day, today, subjecting the locals to immense harassment and intimidation.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the personnel of Indian army, police and Central Reserve Police Force conducted the operations in different areas of Kishtwar, Doda, Ramban, Rajouri, Poonch, Udhampur, Reasi, & Jammu against peace and freedom loving people. The troops carried out raids under the draconian Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act at 25 locations in Rajouri alone.
These raids are part of a broader series of crackdowns to silence Kashmiri voices and suppress the ongoing resistance in the territory. The UAPA has long been weaponized against political activists, journalists, and civilians, allowing authorities to detain individuals arbitrarily without evidence or trial.
The raids in Jammu, which began early in the morning, included searches at the homes of Iftikhar Hussain and his brother Mohammad Parvaz in Tundi Tarar. However, officials admitted that nothing incriminating was found. Despite this, the troops continued their crackdown, intensifying their efforts to harass and intimidate local residents.
This operation follows a series of crackdowns across Jammu region, reflecting the Modi-led regime’s aggressive military approach to crush dissent in the occupied territory.
Meanwhile, Kashmiri political and human rights groups have condemned the raids as yet another attempt to instill fear among the people of Rajouri under the guise of counterterrorism.
