Anti-India rallies, protest demos held in AJK

Muzaffarabad: Anti-India protest rallies and demonstrations were held in Muzaffarabad city and other parts of Azad Jammu and Kashmir to observe India’s Independence Day as a Black Day, today.

According to Kashmir Media Service, a large number of people, including AJK Minister Chaudhry Abdul Rashid, Director of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Cell Raja Sajjad, APHC AJK leaders Shaikh Abdul Mateen, Nazir Ahmed Karnai, Abdul Majeed Lone, Abdul Majeed Mir, Uzair Ahmad Ghazali, AJK leader Showket Javed Mir and youth participated in the rally and protest demonstration from Burhan Wani Chowk to Ghapan Chowk in Muzaffarabad.

The speakers said India has snatched the basic rights, including freedom from the people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir by the dint of military power. They said India has no right to celebrate its independence in the occupied territory as it has the status of a usurper in Jammu and Kashmir.

The speakers appealed to the United Nations that all minorities, including Kashmiris, are insecure in India and their lives and properties are under serious threat. They said humanity is being suppressed in India every day but the international community and civilized nations remain a silent spectator.

They urged the United Nations to give up its double standards and rein in India and fulfill its promise to give the Kashmiri people their right to self-determination.

The participants of the rally raised high-pitched slogans in favour of Pakistan and against India.

Other rallies were held by the citizens holding banners, placards and black flags and marched in different parts of the AJK .
