APHC urges world to play its role in settlement of Kashmir dispute

Srinagar: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference has appealed to the international community to take cognizance of the grim situation in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir and play its role in the settlement of the Kashmir dispute to save the people of occupied Kashmir from Indian state terrorism.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the APHC spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas in a statement in Srinagar while expressing serious concern over the politically-motivated case framed charges under the draconian Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) against President of the High Court Bar Association, Advocate Mian Abdul Qayoom.
The continued Indian military’s violent acts and illegal detention of Hurriyat leaders including APHC chairman Masarrat Aalam Butt, Muhammad Yasin Malik, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, Aasiya Andrabi and others is rising human rights violations in the occupeid territory, the statement said.
The APHC said Kashmiri human rights defenders continue to face intimidation and harassment on the part of the Modi regime, adding Khurram Pervaiz, Irfan Meraj and others are being implicated in fake cases for raising their voice against Indian repression. He said rights activists and journalists in Kashmir are subjected to different intimidating tactics to prevent them from carrying out their professional work. The BJP regime is using anti-terror laws to target human rights activists in the occupied territory for reporting truth.
Terming the attachment of properties including lands of activists by BJP regime and its probe agencies like National Investigation Agency (NIA) and State Investigation Agency (SIA) as part of New Delhi’s systematic genocide campaign, has appealed to the international human rights organizations to take stock of the situation and help stop the wave of repression unleashed on the people of Kashmir by occupation troops.
The APHC spokesman said the Indian BJP Modi govt and its LG regime in the territory cannot silence the Kashmiris’ cry for plebiscite through its might policies and illegal action of 5th August 2019. The statement pointed out that peace would continue to elude South Asia until the Kashmiris are granted their birthright to self-determination.
The APHC statement strongly condemned the harassment and intimidation of the Kashmiri youth and appealed to the international human rights organizations to put pressure on India to release all illegally detained Kashmiri Hurriyat leaders and activists languishing in different jails of India and the territory.
