Indian court issues non-bailable warrants against four Kashmiris in decades-old case

Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Indian police authorities have obtained non-bailable warrants from a special court against four Kashmiris in a fabricated case.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the Additional Sessions Judge TADA/POTA (Special Judge designated under the NIA Act) in Srinagar issued non-bailable warrants against Mohammad Yousuf Shah of Soibugh, Budgam, Ghulam Nabi Khan of Liver Srigufwara, Islamabad, Sher Mohammad of Malangam, Bandipora, and Nasir Yousuf Qadri of Bemina, Srinagar.

The warrants were secured by Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) in connection with a case registered at Police Station CIK Srinagar in April 1996 under various sections of the draconian Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), the Ranbir Penal Code (RPC) and the Egress and Internal Movement (Control) Ordinance (E&IMCO).

Authorities have alleged that the four were involved in anti-India and pro-freedom activities. Such pretexts are often used by the occupation authorities to detain and harass Kashmiris.
