Woman shot dead in broad daylight in BJP-ruled Haryana

Chandigarh: A 47-year-old woman was shot dead in broad daylight outside her residence in BJP-ruled Indian state of Haryana, triggering panic and tension in the area.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the incident took place in Sector 9 in Karnal and was captured on CCTV cameras installed in the area.

The deceased has been identified as Dimple Arora, who was working with the Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (UHBVN). Reports said she had returned home during her lunch break when the attack occurred.

Soon after parking her scooter outside her house, Dimple was approached by a man on a motorcycle who had reportedly been following her. The assailant opened fire at her from close range before fleeing the scene.

She was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared her dead.

The killing sparked fear and tension in the locality as residents gathered outside the victim’s house after hearing of the incident.

Police teams, including forensic experts, reached the spot soon after receiving information and began collecting evidence from the crime scene. Authorities have launched an intensive investigation to trace and apprehend the attacker.
