APHC-AJK remembers Chaudhry Hakimuddin’s sacrifices for Kashmir freedom movement

The All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter held a prayer meeting in Islamabad under the chairmanship of its Convener, Ghulam Muhammad Safi, to pray for the departed soul of veteran Kashmir freedom leader, late Chaudhry Hakimuddin Gorsi, who hailed from Poonch district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
According to Kashmir Media Service, Chaudhry Hakimuddin passed away few days ago in his native village in Mendhar tehsil. Participants paid glowing tributes to the late leader for his lifelong services and unwavering commitment to the Kashmir freedom movement. Speakers described Chaudhry Hakimuddin as a sincere, steadfast, and dedicated activist who remained at the forefront of the struggle for the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination. They said he endured Indian repression and spend eight years in prison for championing the Kashmir cause, but the hardships and atrocities he faced only strengthened his resolve and commitment.
The speakers recalled that following his release, veteran Hurriyat leader late Syed Ali Gilani appointed him as his special representative for Poonch and Rajouri areas, a testament to the trust and confidence reposed in his abilities and dedication. They further noted that persistent Indian repression and state-sponsored persecution forced a large part of his family to migrate, and they continue to live as refugees in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
The participants prayed that Almighty Allah may accept his sacrifices and services for the Kashmir cause, and grant him the highest place in Jannah.
Among those who attended the meeting were APHC General Secretary Advocate Parvez Ahmed Shah, senior Hurriyat leader Mahmood Ahmed Saghar, Shamim Shawl, Raja Khadim Hussain, Syed Kifayat Rizvi, Zahid Safi, Sheikh Abdul Majid, Muhammad Ashraf Dar, Syed Gulshan, Imtiaz Ahmed Wani, Zahoor Safi, and Zahid Ashraf
Meanwhile, a special ceremony was held in Muzaffarabad to pay tribute to senior Kashmir freedom leader and former Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Jammu Province, late Saadullah Tantrey. Hosted at the residence of Aamir Ammar, the event was attended by pro-freedom leaders and activists from the Jammu region.
Speakers said that Saadullah Tantrey had devoted his entire life to the services of Islam and the struggle for the rights of the oppressed people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir. They lauded his invaluable contributions and reaffirmed their resolve to carry forward his mission to its logical conclusion.
The participants also paid tribute to Abdul Rashid Matoo, Ghulam Muhammad Sheikh, and Master Ghulam Nabi for their contributions to the Kashmir freedom movement.
