Srinagar: The Indian Army’s much-hyped Operation Sheruwali in Rajouri district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir entered its 12th consecutive day without any success, as forces continued futile searches in the dense forests despite massive deployment.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Lieutenant General P K Mishra, General Officer Commanding of the White Knight Corps, visited the Gambhir Mughlan area to review the progress of the operation.
Despite using helicopters, drones, sniffer dogs, para commandos and multi-barrel grenade launchers, the Indian forces have failed to find concrete results.
The operation was launched on May 23 on the basis of intelligence inputs about the presence of freedom fighters in the Dorimal-Gambhir Mughlan belt of Manjakote sector. However, after 12 days of intense cordon and search operations, the only “achievement” claimed by the forces was the discovery of so-called blood stains in the forest area.
Locals reported that the prolonged military siege has badly disrupted normal life in the area, with all entry and exit routes sealed and repeated door-to-door searches creating an atmosphere of fear and harassment among the civilian population.
The continued failure of the Indian forces even after 12 days of heavy operation has once again exposed the limitations of their much-publicized anti-resistance campaigns in the territory.
