AJK LA unanimously condemns India’s August 5, 2019 actions in IIOJK

Muzaffarabad : The Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, through a unanimous resolution, has condemned India’s August 5, 2019 actions in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

According to Kashmir Media Service, in a session of the Legislative Assembly, held under the chairmanship of Speaker Chaudhry Latif Akbar, the House reaffirmed its support for the right to self-determination of Kashmiris in accordance with the United Nations Security Council resolutions.

The lawmakers termed the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35A by the Indian government as a violation of international commitments and strongly condemned the ongoing human rights violations, including restrictions on civil liberties, arrests, enforced disappearances and use of force against civilians, in the occupied territory.

The House appealed to the international community to support the implementation of the United Nations resolutions on Kashmir and demanded a peaceful resolution of the long-pending Kashmir dispute.

The lawmakers paid tribute to the Pakistan Armed Forces for the success of Operation Bunyanum Marsoos and praised the leadership of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir.

During the debate in the House, Minister Nabila Ayub said that the people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir had linked their future with Pakistan through the accession resolution before the formation of Pakistan.
