APHC urges world to take notice of oppressed Kashmiris’ plight

Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has urged the international community to take notice of the plight of oppressed Kashmiris and come forward in a big way to resolve the Kashmir dispute for peace and stability of the south Asian region.

According to Kashmir Media Service, APHC spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas in a statement in Srinagar said the continued Indian hegemony and rigidity on Kashmir resolution have suffered enormously at the hands of colonizer India and its Hindutva RSS communal and anti Kashmir agendas.

He said the Kashmir dispute is a critical and a nuclear flashpoint in South Asia which should be resolved through meaningful and result-oriented talks involving Pakistan, India and the genuine leadership of Kashmir.

He said the people of Kashmir are demanding their internationally-recognized political right to self-determination and urged the Indian government to shun its military and rigid stance on Jammu and Kashmir and settle the long-pending dispute according to the will of the Kashmiri people.

The APHC condemned BJP’s illegal and military actions of August 5, 2019 regarding Jammu and Kashmir. It maintained that Kashmiris have the right to pursue a resolution aligned with their aspirations and that the international community bears responsibility for aiding in resolving the dispute to ensure enduring peace in South Asia.

He added that the APHC emphasized that adhering to the UN’s January 5, 1949 resolution is the only way to find out the lasting solution to the Kashmir dispute.
