Farooq Abdullah urges people to work jointly for securing IIOJK’s unique identity
Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, National Conference President, Dr Frooq Abdullah has urged people to work together to secure their unique identity which was illegally taken by the BJP-led govt on 5th of August 2019.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Farooq Abdullh was interacting with party workers during a function in Srinagar. He said that despite facing enormous challenges, they have to intensify their public outreach programme and acquaint people about the systematic assault the incumbent New Delhi-led administration has inflicted on democracy and institutions in the territory.
“We have always been proud of the manner in which diverse religions, castes and ethnicities have co-existed and participated in building our beautiful state. Today, they are trying to create differences between us on the basis of region, religion and ethnicity,” he said, adding the incumbent administration’s actions were aimed at weakening the very spirit of this unity. “We have to work on multiple fronts to secure our unique identity and character,” he said.
He asked the people to channel their disappointment into a positive drive to defeat BJP and its cronies during the coming elections. “Forthcoming elections offer us a unique chance of showing our detestation for the actions which were unilaterally undertaken by BJP on 5th of August, 2019. The issues at stake are fundamental, it’s our pride, our unique character, our land and job rights”, the NC chief said.
