APHC-AJK condemns Modi regime for resorting to colonial measures to subdue Kashmiris

Islamabad: APHC-AJK chapter has strongly condemned the Hindutva Bharatiya Janata Party-led Indian government for using its dreaded agencies to impose colonial orders including attaching properties of Hurriyet leaders, activists, banning pro-freedom political parties and terrorizing common people who raise their voice for their inalienable right to self-determination.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the APHC-AJK leaders including Altaf Ahmad Butt, Shaikh Muhammad Yaqoob, Zahid Safi, Syed Aijaz Rehmani, Javeed Jahangir Butt, Syed Mushtaq Gilani, Zahid Ashraf, Mushtaq Ahmed Butt, Syed Manzoor Ahmed Shah, Muhammad Shafi Dar and Syed Gulshan Ahmad in their separate statements said that the Modi regme was using colonial-era tactics to break the will of the Hurriyat leaders and innocent Kashmiris.

They maintained that the Hindutva government of India was employing such brutal tactics to intimidate Kashmiris into submission and weaken their economy.

The APHC-AJK leaders said that banning political organizations including Jamaat-e-Islami, Muslim Conference, Democratic Freedom Party, Muslim League, JKLF, Dukhtaran-e-Millat and other parties on false and fabricated charges was a disgrace to democracy. Any voice raised for justice has never been silenced by such arbitrary measures, they maintained.

They, however, added that it was unfortunate that the Modi government was shamelessly using these so-called agencies to harass and humiliate the families of Hurriyat leaders, youth and activists by terrorizing people to weaken the righteous demand of right to self-determination. They said that Hurriyat leaders and Kashmiris could not be intimidated by such brute tactics. They appealed to the world community to help resolve the Kashmir dispute and save Kashmiris from Hindutva terrorism.

Meanwhile, in a separate statement, APHC-AJK leader Engineer Mushtaq Mehmood criticized Indian authorities for banning Muslim Conference in IIOJK and the charges leveled against Kashmiri activist Abdul Hameed Lone under Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. He also denounced the orders of Modi government to seize the properties of Kashmiri Hurriyat leaders. He said that the Indian govt was using unlawful tactics to stifle political opposition in the occupied territory.
