China firmly denies Indian allegations on seized ship

Beijing: China has firmly refuted the allegations made by Indian concerning seizure of a ship carrying a dual-use consignment.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Zhao Lijian has disputed India’s description of the seized machine, asserting it to be a heat-treating furnace, not an autoclave.

The official emphasized that the furnace “is by no means a piece of military equipment or a dual-use item,” and therefore not subject to nonproliferation export controls.
