Protest suspends train in Jammu
Jammu: A protest demonstration at Jammu Railway Station halted a train traveling from New Delhi, after two individuals sat on the tracks to express their frustration over train cancellations and poor communication about schedules.
According to Kashmir Media Service, as the train arrived at the station, a young man and his female relative sat on track number one, bringing the train to a momentary stop. Police quickly intervened, detaining the protesters and allowing the train to resume its journey after a brief delay.
According to a relative of the protestors, their action was driven by extreme frustration. “We’ve been stranded in [occupied] Jammu and Kashmir for days due to train cancellations. Despite asking for updates, we received no information. With temperatures soaring over 42 degrees Celsius, we reached our breaking point,” she said, admitting that the protest was a mistake.
The incident highlights the frustration of passengers affected by train cancellations and poor communication, and the need for improved services and communication from railway authorities. KMS-6K
