Modi govt to deploy more troops in IIOJK
Imphal: The Modi-led Indian government will move Two battalions of the Assam Rifles (AR) from Manipur to Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir in an effort to intimidate and harass Kashmiris who are demanding their UN-recognized right to self-determination.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), which is under the Home Ministry, will take over duties in the locations in Manipur where the two AR battalions comprising approximately 1,500 soldiers were stationed.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi last month chaired a review meeting to assess the situation in the occupied territory. He was given a full overview of the situation at the meeting where National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and Home Minister Amit Shah were present.
