Protest demos held across AJK on Youm-e-Istehsal Kashmir
Muzaffarabad: Protest demonstrations were held in various cities of Azad Jammu and Kashmir on the occasion of Youm-e-Istehsal Kashmir, today in which a large number of people, including women, elderly and children participated.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Pasban-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir organized a protest demonstration in Muzaffarabad which was led by Pasban-e-Hurriyat Chairman Uzair Ahmed Ghazali, Vice Chairman Usman Ali Hashim, leader of Pakistan Peoples Party Shaukat Javed Mir, leader of Kashmir United Movement Azmat Hayat, Javed Ahmed Mughal and Mehnaz Qureshi.
The protesters carried banners and placards demanding the United Nations to declare India’s actions of August 5, 2019 as null and void. The protesters said ” Kashmiris’ blood will bring fruit and revolution will come”, “Leave Indian usurper Jammu and Kashmir”, “This war is the war of freedom”.
They also chanted slogans in favour of freedom and against India. The protesters also burnt effigies of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Rajnath Singh, Ajit Doval and Amit Shah.
The protesters marched from Shah Sultan Bridge to the United Nations Observer Office.
Meanwhile, the Jammu Kashmir Awami Party organized a rally on Youm-e-Istehsal Kashmir in Samhani, Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
The rally was led by Jammu Kashmir Awami Party Vice Chairman Imtiaz Ahmad Butt, Jamaat-e-Islami Tehsil Samahni Amir Abdul Karim, Tehsil Samahni Assistant Commissioner Umar Tariq, Senior Hurriyat leader Ghazi Dilawar, Abrar Kashmiri, Kamran and Umairussalam.
Speakers on the occasion the speakers said that August 5, 2019 was the darkest and most oppressive day for Kashmiris.
They said the Indian government, claiming to be a democracy, has deprived the Kashmiri people of all their political, social, religious and human rights and turned the entire territory into an open prison.
They deplored that people were being deprived of their homes, their lands and their jobs. Lakhs of non-state residents are being resettled in IIOJK, they said, adding the confiscation of properties is exposing India’s nefarious plans to try Israel-style fascist plans in Jammu and Kashmir.
Also, “Right to Self-Determination Kashmir Rally” was organized in Kotli Gulpur by refugees of Jammu and Kashmir, Kotli district, and Jammu Kashmir Pir Panjal Freedom Movement. A large number of refugees, local people, students and youth participated in the rally.
Vice Chairman of Pir Panjal Freedom Movement Qazi Imran, speaking on the occasion, highlighted the Indian brutalities in IIOJK and appealed to the world community to resolve the lingering Kashmir dispute according to the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
