“Youme-Istehsal-e-Kashmir” observed in Jeddah to show solidarity with Kashmiris
Jeddah: The Consulate General of Pakistan and the Pakistani community in Jeddah commemorated “Youme-Istehsal-e-Kashmir” to express solidarity with the people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir amidst ongoing Indian atrocities and violations of international laws.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the event, held at the Consulate General premises, marked the anniversary of India’s illegal revocation of IIOJK’s special status on August 5, 2019. Special messages from Pakistan’s President, Prime Minister, and Foreign Minister were read, emphasizing unity with the Kashmiri people.
A documentary depicting the current conditions in IIOJ&K was also screened, offering attendees insight into the challenges faced by residents in the occupied territory.
Key speakers included senior APHC-AJK leader Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, Chairman of the Kashmir Committee Jeddah, Masood Ahmed Puri; Acting Chairman of Jammu & Kashmir Community Overseas (JKCO), Sardar Ashfaq Khan; and Consul General of Pakistan, Khalid Majid. Students from two Pakistani community schools also participated, representing the youth.
The speakers discussed the origins of the Kashmir dispute and condemned India’s unilateral actions on August 5, 2019. They paid tribute to the resilience of the Kashmiri people, appreciated the support from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and proposed various measures for a peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute.
The event saw a large turnout from the Pakistani and Kashmiri communities, along with ethnic media representatives. It concluded with a collective prayer for the martyrs of the Kashmir cause, the early peaceful resolution of the dispute, and the peace, progress, and prosperity of Pakistan.
