Patna: The Bihar assembly witnessed a ruckus as opposition members stormed the well of the House, demanding the withdrawal of the Waqf Amendment Bill by New Delhi.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the opposition members also urged Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to clarify his stance on the contentious issue.
The Speaker, Nand Kishor Yadav, was forced to adjourn the proceedings, despite repeated pleas for the members to return to their seats. The Speaker emphasized that the issue was beyond the state’s jurisdiction.
Later, Tejashwi Yadav, the leader of the opposition, expressed his solidarity with the agitating members, stating that he fully supported their demands regarding the Waqf Amendment Bill.
