APHC-AJK holds rally in Mirpur to mark “Right to Self-Determination Day”
Mirpur, January 05 (KMS): A rally was held in Mirpur, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, on the occasion of “Right to Self-Determination Day”, today, under the auspices of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter.
According to Kashmir Media Service, leaders of the APHC-AJK, leaders of various political parties of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, lawyers, students and people from all walks of life attended the rally.
The rally started from Dolphin Chowk and ended at Shaheed Chowk and was attended by hundreds of citizens. The rally was led by All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Kashmir chapter leaders Syed Yousuf Naseem, Shamima Shawl and Vice Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Pir Panjal Freedom Movement Qazi Imran.
Hurriyat leader and Vice Chairman of Jammu Kashmir Pir Panjal Freedom Movement Qazi Imran and other leaders, while Syed Yousuf Naseem, former convener of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Kashmir chapter, was the special guest.
Hurriyat leaders Bilqis Raja, Shaukat Butt, Bashir Ahmed Shago, Abdul Rashid Butt, Sardar Haji Muhammad Arif and others participated in the rally.
The participants were holding placards and banners in their hands on which slogans like “We have a right to have a referendum”, “The United Nations should fulfill its promise”, “India should withdraw its troops from occupied Kashmir” and “Indian occupation is unacceptable”.
The speakers highlighted India’s stubbornness, the failure of the United Nations and the sacrifices of the Kashmiri people and said that the United Nations should implement the resolution of January 5, 1949.
They said that the Kashmiris would never accept any solution to the Kashmir dispute contrary to their wishes.
Meanwhile, a rally was taken out from the Muhajir Camp Hadabari to the Valley Inn Hotel Hadabari Chowk in Bagh, Azad Jammu and Kashmir in which all the muhajirs, Ansaar and the district administration participated in full force and demanded of the United Nations to implement the resolutions passed on the Kashmir issue including January 5, 1949.
As long as India does not give the Kashmiri people their right to freedom, the Kashmiri people will continue their struggle against India at all levels.
A camp was organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Cell Kashmir Centre, Mirpur, on the occasion of Right to Self-Determination Day today.
A special prayer ceremony was also organized at the Deputy Commissioner Office Mirpur, followed by a rally that started from the Deputy Commissioner Office Mirpur and culminated in a rally at Chowk Shaheed.
