Mirwaiz, Maulana Madani discuss Waqf Bill and Kashmir situation
New Delhi: All Parties Hurriyat Conference senior leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq met Maulana Syed Mahmood Madani, President of Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind in New Delhi today, where they discussed concerns regarding the Waqf Amendment Bill.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Mirwaiz was accompanied by Maulana Rahmatullah Mir Qasmi, a renowned Islamic scholar and head of Darul Uloom Rahimiya Bandipora. The leaders expressed concerns about the potential impact of the Waqf Amendment Bill, particularly regarding its effect on the autonomy and administration of Waqf properties.
They emphasized the importance of protecting the rights and interests of Waqf institutions and the Muslim community. During the meeting, Mirwaiz also briefed Maulana Madani on the latest situation in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
It is worth noting that Mirwaiz Umar Farooq is currently in Delhi and has planned meetings with other prominent Indian religious and political leaders to address Muslim concerns regarding the Waqf Amendment Bill and to update them on the ongoing situation in IIOJK.
