Jeddah reception honors Shameem Shawl, raises alarm over deteriorating IIOJK situation

Jeddah: In a show of solidarity, community leaders and Kashmiri expatriates in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, hosted a reception in honor of Shameem Shawl, a leader of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the reception was presided over by Pakistan’s Consul General, Majid Khalid, and attended by Sardar Iqbal, Masood Qureshi, Abdul Latif Abbasi, Mohammad Arif Moghal, Khurshid Matial, Raja Shamroz, Raja Riaz, Sardar Ashfaq, Chaudhry Riaz Ghaman, Masarrat Khaleel, Mohammad Adeel, Khalid Khurshid, Sardar Mehtab Sarwar, Sardar Noman Iqbal, Sardar Bilal Shaheen Sajad, and others.

At the event, speakers expressed deep concern over the deteriorating situation in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), highlighting the ongoing human rights abuses perpetrated by India. They emphasized that India’s oppressive tactics have failed to suppress the unyielding spirit of Kashmiris who remain resolute in their struggle for freedom. The speakers reaffirmed that Kashmiris will continue their fight for the completion of their martyrs’ mission and the realization of their rightful aspirations.

The speakers called on the United Nations to urgently address India’s violations in IIOJK and take concrete steps toward resolving the Kashmir dispute in accordance with its own resolutions. They lauded Shameem Shawl’s tireless contributions to the Kashmir cause and expressed optimism that the sacrifices of the Kashmiri people will soon bear fruit, leading to the freedom of Jammu and Kashmir from Indian occupation.
