India committing worst human rights violations in IIOJK: Safi

Karachi: All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter Convener Ghulam Muhammad Safi has said that India is committing the worst human rights violations in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir to crush the Kashmiris’ self-determination movement.

Ghulam Muhammad Safi was addressing the launch of Kashmiri writer Bashir Saduzai’s new book “Kanan Poshpoora” organized by Palestine Foundation Pakistan at the Karachi Press Club.

The ceremony was also addressed by Sardar Nazakat of Pakistan People’s Party, Mahfooz Yar Khan of MQM, Muslim Pervez of Jamaat-e-Islami, APHC-AJK General Secretary Advocate Pervez Shah, Chairman of Kashmir Institute of International Relations Altaf Hussain Wani and Jamshed Hussain.

Ghulam Muhammad Safi said India has given free rein to its army and is using rape of women as a weapon of war. He said no action has been taken against the perpetrators of gang rape in any forum.

He said Bashir Saduzai did an excellent historical work and the people of Pakistan, especially the youth, should know how much hardships Kashmiris are enduring for the completion and stability of Pakistan. He said that the people of Kashmir cannot forget Kannan Poshpora.

Altaf Hussain Wani on the occasion said Kashmiris are neither tired nor defeated. He further said there has been no development of any kind in occupied Jammu and Kashmir, adding the railway line cannot be an alternative to freedom.

Advocate Pervez said that Bashir Saduzai wrote this book to tell the women of occupied Kashmir that they have not forgotten the Kannan Poshpora tragedy.
