‘I’ve no control over police’, admits IIOJK CM Omar Abdullah

Jammu: In what exposes the powerlessness of the Omar Abdullah, who became chief minister as a result of recently held elections in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, he openly admitted that “he does not hold control over the police”.

According to Kashmir Media Service, this he said while speaking in the backdrop of the use of lathi-charge on protesting daily wagers by the police in Srinagar, the other day.

As the IIOJK Assembly House assembled for the day, the members highlighted the massive protests by the daily wagers demanding release of wages and regularisation of jobs, and criticised the lathi charge on them.

To this, Omar Abdullah asserted that the lathi charge should not have happened, and admitted that “he does not hold control over the police”.

“As far as the police’s treatment of the protesters is concerned, I would like to remind that unfortunately, neither you nor I have control over the police,” he said in response to a lawmaker who raised the issue in the assembly.
