Islamabad: Convener of All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter, Ghulam Muhammad Safi has paid tribute to the unprecedented solidarity shown by the people of Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir with the people of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmiri.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Ghulam Muhammad Safi in his statement issued in Islamabad expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Government of Pakistan, the Armed Forces of Pakistan, all political parties of Pakistan, religious and religious organizations, social and welfare institutions, student organizations, lawyers, the journalist community, civil society and people belonging to all schools of thought for observing Kashmir Solidarity Day on February 5.
He said that the organized, peaceful and dignified manner in which the meetings, processions, rallies, seminars, conferences and other events were held throughout Pakistan and Azad Kashmir on February 5 are not only a manifestation of the fact that the Pakistani nation is united on the Kashmir dispute, but these activities have also become a strong moral support and source of encouragement for the oppressed people of occupied Kashmir.
He said despite Indian oppression, state terrorism, serious human rights violations and continuous siege, the resolve of the Kashmiri people has been further strengthened due to this global solidarity. He added that the Kashmir Solidarity Day celebrations gave a clear message to the entire international community, including India, that the Kashmir dispute was a living and unresolved international dispute, which could not be suppressed by force, coercion, demographic change, military siege and political tactics.
Ghulam Muhammad Safi said Pakistan stands at every level with the struggle of the Kashmiri people for their rightful, just and recognized right to self-determination in accordance with the resolutions of the United Nations Security Council and will not withdraw this support under any circumstances.
He particularly emphasized that this support of Pakistan is not merely symbolic but a principled, moral and diplomatic responsibility that will continue until the Kashmiri people achieve their innate, legal and inalienable right to self-determination. He said Kashmir is the central point of Pakistan’s foreign policy and this issue is not just a geographical one but a question related to human rights, justice and global conscience.
The APHC-AJK Convener said Prime Minister of Pakistan Shahbaz Sharif and Army Chief Syed Asim Munir, despite their extraordinary engagements, came to Muzaffarabad, Azad Kashmir, to show practical solidarity with the Kashmiri people, is a clear proof of the fact that Kashmir is the jugular vein of Pakistan and Pakistan and Kashmir are not just geographical neighbours but a single nation, whose sorrows, sacrifices, struggles and future are common.
He said the arrival of the Pakistani leadership in Muzaffarabad has assured the people of occupied Kashmir that they are not alone, but a nuclear power, an organized state and a living nation is standing by their side. This move not only gave courage to the Kashmiri people but also further strengthened Pakistan’s principled position at the global level, he remarked.
Ghulam Muhammad Safi said the APHC-AJK warmly welcomed the announcement by the Prime Minister of Pakistan to increase the subsistence allowance of Kashmiri refugees and termed it a wise, humanitarian and commendable decision. He said this move will lead to a reduction in the economic hardships faced by Kashmiri refugees and is a practical proof of Pakistan’s long-standing commitment to the Kashmiri people.
He said the APHC-AJK expresses the hope that the process of dignified resettlement of the refugees, provision of employment opportunities, education, health and other basic facilities will also be made more effective, faster and transparent.
At the end of his statement, he expressed his firm belief that Pakistan will continue to take concrete and decisive steps in the future to take the Kashmir freedom movement to its logical conclusion by making its political, diplomatic, moral and international support more systematic and effective.
He said the decades-long sacrifices of the Kashmiri people will not go waste and the day is not far when the Kashmiri people will move towards an independent future by achieving the goal of freedom, dignity, justice and the right to self-determination.
