Rights activists denounce Modi’s proposed Israel visit
Modi, Netanyahu termed ‘two occupiers united by repression’

Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, human rights activists and civil society members have strongly condemned Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s proposed visit to Israel next week, terming it a meeting of “two occupiers united by repression.”
According to Kashmir Media Service, the criticism came after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed that Narendra Modi will visit Israel for high-level talks on defence, technology and strategic cooperation. Activists in IIOJK said the visit reflects deepening military and intelligence collaboration between New Delhi and Tel Aviv at a time when both regimes face global criticism for war crimes and human rights abuses in their respective occupied territories.
Civil society representatives described Modi and Netanyahu as “two sides of the same coin,” accusing them of butchering Kashmiris and Palestinians in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir and occupied Palestine. They said the alliance between the two governments has emboldened aggressive military policies, demographic engineering and the suppression of dissent in both regions.
Human rights defenders in Srinagar noted that since the abrogation of Article 370 in August 2019, IIOJK has witnessed intensified militarisation, arbitrary detentions, media gagging and curbs on political activity. They argued that India’s growing defence partnership with Israel has further strengthened surveillance systems, crowd-control weaponry and counterinsurgency tactics used against civilians.
The activists also pointed to the ongoing devastation in Gaza and the continued expansion of Israeli settlements in Palestinian territories, stating that the Modi–Netanyahu nexus represents a model of occupation rooted in force rather than dialogue. “While Kashmiris and Palestinians demand their right to self-determination, both regimes respond with bullets, bulldozers and black laws,” a civil society member said.
They urged the international community and the United Nations to take serious notice of what they termed a “dangerous alliance of occupation powers,” warning that enhanced military cooperation between India and Israel would further imperil regional peace and intensify repression in both occupied Jammu and Kashmir and Palestine.
