Muslim Board slams Adityanath’s remarks on namaz

New Delhi: In India, the All India Muslim Personal Law Board has hit back at Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath over his remarks against offering namaz on roadside, calling the language inappropriate for a constitutional office holder.
According to Kashmir Media Service, AIMPLB spokesman Syed Qasim Rasool Ilyas said the statement sounded like the language of a street-level agitator and questioned why only Muslim gatherings faced restrictions while other religious processions continued on public roads.
The controversy erupted ahead of Eid Al-Adha after Adityanath said roads were meant for movement, not namaz, and warned of “another method” if people did not comply peacefully.
Muslim leaders said the issue should be handled through dialogue, not statements that deepen communal tension. KMS-9K
