Hindutva activists disrupt Eid-ul-Adha observance in Mumbai, bring pigs to stage protest

Mumbai : Hindutva activists staged a protest and created a commotion after Muslims brought goats for Eid-ul-Adha sacrifice in a housing society in Mumbai, Maharashtra, with the protesters also bringing pigs to counter sacrificial goats.
According to Kashmir Media Service, viral videos on social media showed Hindutva activists performing Hanuman Chalisa outside the Poonam Estate One Society in Mira Road area of Mumbai on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha, while objecting to the presence of sacrificial animals.
During the protest, some Hindutva activists also attempted to enter the society carrying pigs, further escalating tensions, with reports of clashes emerging. The activists also harassed Muslim families residing in the society.
Later, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), instead of taking action against the protesting Hindutva activists, removed the goats belonging to Muslim residents from the area.
Videos and images of the incident are widely circulating on social media, while reports suggesting that police sided with Hindutva activists rather than ensuring protection for Muslim residents.
