‘Ashraf Sehrai fought tirelessly throughout his life for Kashmir cause’

Muzaffarabad: Pasban-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir organized a rally in front of Central Press Club in Muzaffarabad, today, to pay tributes to Shaheed Muhammad Ashraf Khan Sehrai.

According to Kashmir Media Service, senior APHC leader, Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai died in Indian police custody in Jammu on May 5, 2021.

A large number of people gathered along with banners and placards inscribed with pro-freedom and anti-India slogans and also chanted slogans. They also expressed their determination to continue the mission of thousands of martyrs, including Ashraf Sehrai.

Speakers at the rally said that Shaheed Muhammad Ashraf Khan Sehrai fought tirelessly throughout his life for the freedom of Kashmir, Islam, political, social and human rights of the Kashmiri people.

They said Ashraf Sehrai along with Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Gilani traveled all parts of the territory and taught Kashmiri people about Hurriyat and freedom.

They maintained that Sehrai not only informed the people of the remote areas, villages and cities of the Jammu and Kashmir about Indian coercive rule and colonial tactics, but also taught them the lesson of freedom from Indian coercive tyranny.

The speakers paid tribute to Ashraf Sehrai and said that Shaheed Quaid warned against Indian atrocities, conspiracies and the worst political tricks throughout his life.

“Sehrai dedicated his son Junaid Sehrai for the freedom of Kashmir”, they added. Ashraf Sehrai was martyred in the Indian prison but he did not surrender to the Indian rulers, they maintained.

The speakers said on May 5, 2021, the funeral of the 70 years old martyred Kashmiri leader Ashraf Khan Sehrai was taken from Udhampur Jail, Jammu, during his imprisonment, which is the worst example of the hatred and revenge of the Indian government towards the Kashmiri people.

The speakers said the people of Jammu and Kashmir will continue the mission of Shaheed Ashraf Sehrai.

Speakers also paid tribute to Syed Ali Gilani, Ali Muhammad Dar, Shams-ul-Haq, Ghulam Rasool Dar, Maqbool Butt, Afzal Guru, Burhan Wani, Abdul Ghani Lone, Molvi Muhammad Farooq, Zia Mustafa, Sajjad Afghani, Usama Haider, Muhammad Ibrar, Abdul Wahab Rawalakoti, Sunnad Zafar and other martyrs of Kashmir freedom movement.

The rally was led by Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami, AJK, Dr Muhammad Mushtaq Khan, Chairman of Pasban-e-Hurriyat Uzair Ahmed Ghazali, Hurriyat leaders Zahid Safi, Mushtaq-ul-Islam, Syed Shoaib Shah, Usman Ali Hashim, Shaukat Javed Mir, Syed Asif Gilani, Chaudhry Muhammad Ismail, Syed Hamza Shaheen, Siddique Dawood, Javed Ahmed Kaar, Muhammad Ismail and Muhammad Ishaq Shaheen.
